भीमरूपी महारुद्रा – मारुती स्तोत्र
(Bheemrupi Maharudra - Maruti Stotra)
BheemRupi Maharudra or Maruti Stotra is a 17th-century stotra, hymn of praise, composed in Marathi language by saint-poet of Maharashtra, Samarth Ramdas. Bheem in Sanskrit is a symbol of vastness, and this “Bheem Rupi Stotra” is the first and primary section of Maruti Stotra.
भीमरूपी महारुद्रा, वज्रहनुमान मारुती ।
वनारी अंजनीसूता रामदूता प्रभंजना ॥१॥

Salutations to Maruti, who possesses a colossal, formidable form, a jaw as strong as a diamond (Vajra), the destroyer of forests (of demons), the noble son of Anjani, the divine messenger of Lord Rama, and the swift child of the Wind God.
महाबळी प्राणदाता, सकळां उठवी बळें ।
सौख्यकारी दुःखहारी, दूत वैष्णव गायका ॥२॥

He is immensely powerful, the giver of life force, who revives everyone with his strength. He is the bestower of happiness, the remover of grief, a true devotee and messenger of Vishnu (Lord Rama), and an eternal singer of His glories.
दीननाथा हरीरूपा, सुंदरा जगदांतरा ।
पातालदेवताहंता, भव्यसिंदूरलेपना ॥३॥

He is the protector of the humble, an incarnation of the divine Lord, exceptionally beautiful, and present within the hearts of the entire world. He is the destroyer of the dark forces of the netherworld (Patala) and is beautifully adorned with grand orange-red vermilion paste.
लोकनाथा जगन्नाथा, प्राणनाथा पुरातना ।
पुण्यवंता पुण्यशीळा, पावना परितोषका ॥४॥

Lord of the worlds, guardian of the cosmos, master of our life force, and the ancient supreme soul. You are exceptionally meritorious, righteous in character, pure, purifying, and the one who satisfies all desires.
ध्वजांगे उचली बाहो, आवेशें लोटला पुढें ।
काळाग्नी काळरुद्राग्नी, देखतां कांपती भयें ॥५॥

Bearing a flag and raising his powerful arms, he charges forward with roaring fury. Seeing his intense anger, even the fires of cosmic destruction and the terrible God of Death tremble with absolute fear.
ब्रह्माण्डें माईली नेणों, आंवळे दंतपंगती ।
नेत्राग्नी चालिल्या ज्वाळा, भ्रुकुटी ताठिल्या बळें ॥६॥

It feels as if entire universes are contained within his firmly clenched teeth. Fierce sparks of fire rage forth from his eyes, and his eyebrows are tensed heavily with supreme raw power.
पुच्छ ते मुरडीले माथा, किरीटी कुंडले बरीं ।
सुवर्ण कटी कांसोटी, घंटा किंकिणी नागरा ॥७॥

His tail is wrapped majestically high over his head, and he is adorned with an exquisite crown and beautiful earrings. He wears a golden waistband with a tightly tucked loincloth, and small ankle bells along with a great war drum chime as he moves.
ठकारे पर्वता ऐसा, नेटका सडपातळू ।
चपळांग पाहतां मोठे, महाविद्युल्लतेपरी ॥८॥

Standing massive and sturdy like a giant mountain, yet perfectly agile and lean. Looking at his lightning-fast limbs, he appears like a grand, brilliant streak of electrical energy in the skies.
कोटिच्या कोटि उड्डाणें, झेपावे उत्तरेकडे ।
मंद्राद्रीसारिखा द्रोणू, क्रोधें उत्पाटिला बळें ॥९॥

Making massive leaps covering millions of miles, he flies swiftly towards the North. In deep, powerful anger, he uproots the entire Dronagiri mountain, which is as colossal as Mount Mandara.
आणिला मागुतीं नेला, आला गेला मनोगती ।
मनासी टाकिलें मागें, गतीसी तुळणा नसे ॥१०॥

He brought the mountain and returned it to its place, coming and going at the speed of pure thought. He leaves the speed of the human mind far behind; his absolute velocity has no comparison in the cosmos.
अणुपासोनी ब्रह्मांडाएवढा होत जातसे ।
तयासी तुळणा कोठे, मेरु मंदार धाकुटे ॥११॥

He can expand his form instantly from the micro-size of an atom to the vast infinity of the entire cosmos. Where is any comparison to him? Even the great cosmic mountains Meru and Mandara appear tiny before his vastness.
ब्रह्माण्डाभोवते वेढे, वज्रपुच्छें करू शकें ।
तयासी तुळणा कैंची, ब्रह्माण्डी पाहता नसे ॥१२॥

He can encircle the entire universe with his adamantine tail (Vajra tail). How could there ever be an equal to him? No equivalent exists anywhere across creation.
आरक्त देखिलें डोळा, ग्रासले सूर्यमंडळा ।
वाढतां वाढतां वाढें, भेदिले शून्यमंडळा ॥१३॥

Perceiving the glowing sun with his red eyes, he bounded forward and swallowed the solar sphere. Growing infinitely larger and larger, he pierced straight through the deep regions of outer space.
फलश्रुति (Phalashruti - Benefits of Chanting)
धनधान्य पशूवृद्धि, पुत्रपौत्र समग्रही ।
पावती रूपविद्यादी, स्तोत्रपाठें करूनियां ॥१४॥

Increase of wealth, grains, and livestock, along with the blessings of children and grandchildren; all are achieved, alongside beauty, radiant health, and deep wisdom, by reciting this holy hymn.
भूतप्रेतसमंधादी, रोगव्याधी समस्तही ।
नासती तूटती चिंता, आनंदे भीमदर्शनें ॥१५॥

Evil spirits, negative energies, and all physical diseases and illnesses are completely wiped out. All stress, anxieties, and worries shatter into pieces, replaced by pure bliss upon seeing this magnificent form of Maruti.
हे धरा पंधरा श्लोकी, लाभली शोभली बरी ।
दृढदेहो निसंदेहो, संख्या चन्द्रकळा गुणें ॥१६॥

Hold these fifteen verses firmly in your heart (note: referring to the core text structure); they are highly beneficial and beautiful. It grants a strong, disease-free body and clear, doubt-free focus, waxing in strength day by day like the phases of the moon.
रामदासी अग्रगण्यू, कपिकुळासि मंडणू ।
रामरूपी अंतरात्मा, दर्शनें दोष नासती ॥१७॥

He is the foremost among the servants of Lord Rama, the crowning jewel of the monkey lineage, whose inner soul is one with Lord Rama. By merely having his sight (darshan), all internal flaws, spiritual blockages, and sins are completely destroyed.
॥इति श्रीरामदासकृतं संकटनिरसनं मारुतिस्तोत्रं संपूर्णम्॥
