Sarvatobhadra Chakra Calculator

Sarvatobhadra combines sarvatah ("everywhere / entirely") and bhadra ("auspicious"), literally "auspicious from all directions." The chakra is a 9×9 grid of 81 squares: the outer border holds the 28 nakshatras (the usual 27, plus Abhijit, a special star carved out between Uttara Ashadha and Shravana), and the innermost 5 squares hold the 5 tithi-groups and the 7 weekdays.

When a planet transits a border nakshatra, it casts vedha ("obstruction" or "piercing") along three lines radiating from that square — one straight line across the chart, and two diagonals. Anything sitting on those lines is considered "pierced" by that planet. Vedha from a natural benefic (Moon, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus) is favourable; vedha from a natural malefic (Sun, Mars, Saturn, Rahu, Ketu) is considered obstructive.

Classical texts caution that this is one input among several — a single vedha from a single planet on a single reference point is not, by itself, predictive. It becomes meaningful when several reference points (Janma Nakshatra, birth tithi, birth weekday, and others) all come under vedha from the same handful of transiting planets at once.
