Sun in Vedic Astrology

Sun (Surya) is the Atma Karaka—the significator of the soul, vitality, self-confidence, authority, and personal identity. Known as the king among the nine grahas, the Sun represents leadership, honor, dignity, government, father, reputation, and the inner light that guides an individual toward purpose.
