Bhagavad Gita Chapter 3, Verse 27: The Ego and Nature
प्रकृतेः क्रियमाणानि गुणैः कर्माणि सर्वशः । अहङ्कारविमूढात्मा कर्ताहमिति मन्यते ॥ २७ ॥
prakṛiteḥ kriyamāṇāni guṇaiḥ karmāṇi sarvaśaḥ ahaṅkāra-vimūḍhātmā kartāham iti manyate
Meaning in English
All actions are performed entirely by the Gunas (qualities) of Prakriti (Nature). One whose mind is deluded by ego thinks, 'I am the doer.'
Astrological Significance
The three Gunas — Sattva, Rajas, Tamas — directly map to planetary temperaments in Jyotish. This verse explains how our astrological nature (planetary placements and dashas) shapes behavior, often without our conscious awareness. Understanding this removes self-blame and encourages conscious evolution.

How to Use This Shloka as a Remedy

Commentary
Prakriti here is not just 'nature' in a general sense — it is the primordial material energy that includes all planetary forces. The Gunas are its operating modes, and your birth chart is essentially a snapshot of which Gunas were dominant at the moment of your birth.
